When is it the right time? 6 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
My husband has a daughter from a previous relationship which he has not had contact with since she was a baby. She has recently (within the last week) found them and they have started communicating via email/text as she lives several states away. We have two children together (4 & 6) which he wants to introduce to his other daughter. I am concernced they are not old enough to understand and that since she does not live close that we should hold off on this. Any suggestions?

I believe it is usually the adults that have a harder time with this situation. Kids are usually excited to have more brothers and sisters and cousins. They just want to be loved! It all depends on how you approach it. If it is approached in a positive way where you are reconnecting them with their siblings, I think it will turn out just fine. I think things are more difficult if the kids are forced to think or act a certain way towards their family.
